We traveled to Providenciales in March 2020 for a peaceful vacation with tropical waters and a quiet beach vacation. The week began with mild storms which produced waves on Grace Bay until Wednesday. Although the waves damaged the dock at Club Med, Lisa and I had a great time jumping waves. We stayed for the week at the Ocean Club Resort east of town. I think our best time was spent eating local fried fish and conch at Rickie's Flamingo next door on the beach. A short walk along Grace Bay brought us to Ocean Club West near town for dinner and shopping. Michael ordered a Corona margarita at the bar for his birthday that was much bigger than he realized.
Midweek I went diving with Provo Divers to explore the reefs at French Cay and West Caicos. We traveled past the deserted Ritz Carlton on West Caicos for excellent wall diving. There were dolphins and eagle rays that week which eluded my camera. The water was pristine and clear blue with 100 foot visibility.
We finished the week on paddle boards. Michael and Lisa have grown since there first time on boards. Amazing how time changes!
This was our last week of normal life before we returned home for the Covid pandemic in the US. By Thursday, we began to hear about the abrupt changes back home. I hope we can return to Provo by 2021 for Lisa's 18th Birthday.
