I traveled to Asheville, North Carolina in May 2019 for a meeting at the Omni Grove Park Inn. The hotel is located at the base of the Blue Ridge Parkway. In the morning I traveled up through the clouds to Craggy Gardens to enjoy views from the Pinnacle. The weather cleared and I traveled north to Mount Mitchell to see the highest peak east of the Mississippi. The day was perfect with blue skies and white clouds. I finished my tour of the parkway at Crab Tree Falls. There was a small bridge below the falls that allowed time-lapsed photography.

The next morning I traveled to see the Biltmore Mansion in Asheville. The house has been nicely restored since I last visited in 1994. The gardens were still blooming. After my meeting, I enjoyed a sunset dinner at the Grove Park Inn.

On the last day in Asheville, I travel to the border with South Carolina to see DuPont State Forest. There were several waterfalls in the park including Hooker Falls and the larger Triple Falls.

After my meeting completed, I traveled north to Virginia to visit Hot Springs. I stayed overnight at the Omni Homestead Resort. This resort claims to be America's first resort. The hotel was wonderful and the rhododendron were blooming outside. I included a rare selfie as I prepared for dinner in the dining hall. The next morning I toured the resort before leaving for home.
